Every day, millions of Americans receive scam voicemails asking them to call back suspicious numbers. Most people ignore them. Some call back and get scammed. Almost nobody reports them.
NumBan changes that. It's an iPhone app that makes reporting scam voicemails as easy as sharing a photo.
How It Works
When you receive a scam voicemail, tap the share button in Phone.app and send it to NumBan. We extract the callback number from the transcript metadata, independently verify it against our own audio transcription, and prepare a carrier abuse complaint.
You review the complaint, tap send, and NumBan routes it to the carrier or RespOrg responsible for the number. Then we track the number weekly. When it goes dead, you get a confirmed kill.
Why It Matters
Individual complaints get lost. But when multiple verified reports land on the same number from different consumers, carriers take notice. NumBan aggregates the evidence and creates the paper trail that gets numbers shut down.
