Help & FAQ

Common questions about using NumBan. Can't find what you need? Email support@numban.com.

How do I report a scam voicemail?

Open your iPhone's Phone app, find the voicemail, tap Share, and choose NumBan. Share the voicemail audio so we can extract the callback number. If NumBan has verified that number before, an eligible report may be approved and queued automatically. A new number is the exception: we need you to verify the phone number and report details before submission. Some reports may wait for corroboration or a safety review. Carrier complaints are currently filed manually while automated email delivery is disabled.

Can I share a screenshot too?

Yes. After sharing the voicemail audio, open an uncropped screenshot in Photos, tap Share, and choose NumBan. Keep the voicemail date and transcript visible. This helps us compare the date shown on the voicemail with when you shared it. NumBan attaches it to a matching voicemail when it can. If it cannot, you choose the voicemail in the app. Otherwise the screenshot stays as its own evidence and is not filed as a report. Screenshots are private report data and are not published.

The transcription failed or found the wrong number

Speech recognition isn't perfect. If NumBan can't find a US callback number, share the voicemail audio again from Phone.app (3–300 seconds). If we find more than one number, the app asks you to pick the one they told you to call. For easiest matching, share the voicemail audio first and then the screenshot.

What does "kill confirmed" mean?

NumBan re-checks reported numbers weekly. A kill is confirmed only after two consecutive inactive probes spanning at least seven days. That does not mean NumBan disconnected the line, but the number looks dead and it counts on the board.

Why is my number still showing as active?

Carrier review and action can take time. Reports enter the carrier-filing workflow after approval and any required corroboration or safety review; NumBan currently files complaints manually. Some numbers stay active for weeks or months. NumBan continues to monitor and will notify you when the status changes.

Do I qualify for a TCPA claim?

A prerecorded telemarketing message to a cell phone without prior express written consent can be a TCPA issue. NumBan does not file claims or connect you with a law firm in the current version. This is informational, not legal advice.

How does auto-file work?

Eligible reports for callback numbers NumBan has verified before may be approved and queued automatically. New numbers require you to verify the callback number and report details first. Some reports may wait for corroboration or a safety review. Carrier complaints are currently filed manually while automated email delivery is disabled. Automatically approved reports include a 10-minute undo window.

Can a number's owner dispute a report?

Yes. If you own a number that has been reported, you can submit a dispute. We'll pause further carrier filing and remove the public page from search engines while we review. Contact support@numban.com with the phone number and your evidence.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings in the NumBan app and tap "Delete account and data." If your NumBan Pro subscription is set to renew, cancel it through Apple first; the app will block deletion until cancellation is confirmed. After that, account deletion removes your personal data and stored voicemail and screenshot evidence. Apple manages subscription billing separately.
